The Art Explorers, Inc., d/b/a Grannies on Safari, Inc., (“TAEI”) takes privacy and data protection issues seriously. We have designed this Privacy Policy to explain how we handle personally identifiable information (“PII”) collected from customers who purchase our goods and services and submit PII to TAEI through the Internet.
As our products and services evolve, we may revise this policy, so please check back frequently. If you have questions about our privacy practices please contact us at privacy@granniesonsafari.com.
Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) covers TAEI’s treatment of PII collected through this Web site from customers (hereafter "customer" or "you") who use this Web site.
This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that TAEI does not own or control or to people that TAEI does not employ or manage. This Policy is specific to TAEI and this Web site and does not apply to any other Web sites or the Internet products and services of other parties.
Information Collection and Use
TAEI collects PII when you order or use certain TAEI products and services. TAEI may also receive PII from its business partners.
When you order products from our Web site, we ask for your contact information (such as your name, street address and e-mail address), as well as certain information pertaining to your business, along with billing information such as a credit card number.
In the course of processing payment transactions, we typically receive from financial institutions information related to the transactions. This normally includes information about payments that consumers have furnished financial institutions in placing orders.
TAEI uses the information collected to fulfill your requests for certain products and services, to process payment transactions, to facilitate billing, and otherwise use the payment gateway services of third-party payment processors. We may also send you service announcements, newsletters, and periodic notices about your orders, specials and our products.
TAEI does not directly offer services or sell products to children. TAEI does not request or knowingly collect PII or contact information from anyone under the age of 13. In our Kids Corner area, we only have links to other Web sites, not owned, operated or controlled by TAEI, that do provide services to children and, in these cases, the privacy policies of those other sites are applicable to your access to the children’s areas of such other sites.
TAEI does not sell your PII to third-party marketers; however, TAEI may need to provide such information to such parties that are used to fulfill products and services you have ordered from TAEI.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Protecting PII about consumers is an important part of our business. We share and disclose such information only as described in this Policy.
TAEI will send PII about you to other companies or people when: 1) we have your consent to share the information; 2) we need to share your information to provide the product or service you have requested; or, 3) we need to send the information to companies who work on behalf of TAEI to provide a product or service to you. Unless we tell you differently, these companies do not have our permission to use the PII we provide them beyond what is necessary to assist us in providing, analyzing or improving our products and services.
PII consumer information is shared with third parties (such as banks and credit card processors) as appropriate for TAEI to acquire and use payment processing services.
We also may release PII when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law; enforce or apply our business contracts; or, protect the rights, property, or safety of TAEI, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and risk reduction.
In the event that TAEI is acquired by a third party, PII may be among the transferred assets.
Information Security
Information security is critical to our business. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by requiring our system providers to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information. The information gathered on secure computers is stored in a locked down data center. The number of employees involved in the management of the data center that have physical access to these computers is limited. Such systems use firewalls and other security technology, as well as industry standard security practices, to prevent computers from being accessed by unauthorized persons.
It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your login ID/password, other sensitive account data and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer and otherwise safeguard any password used to access any services.
Notice for Non-U.S. Users
TAEI is located in the United States. Any information that you provide to TAEI will be transferred out of your country to the United States. By providing PII to us, you are consenting to its storage, processing and use as described herein and on this Web site.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
TAEI reserves the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. If you have additional questions about this Policy, please contact us at privacy@granniesonsafari.com. This Privacy Policy is effective as of November 1, 2009.
