The Grannies on Safari® are proud to announce their newest partner and sponsor - AARP. As one of the nation's largest nonprofit and nonpartisan organizations, AARP is the exclusive sponsor of their award-winning travel series for the 2011-2012 season. The Grannies on Safari® series has aired on PBS since 2006. The current third series began airing on PBS stations in May 2011 and chronicles their travel adventures.
"Every week, Regina and Pat show us what many of our members understand – that life after 50 can still be full of learning, adventure, and succeeding through challenges," said Emilio Pardo, AARP's EVP and Chief Brand Officer. "They are inspirational, daring, and fun to watch – we just love the show."
Having travelled to more than 115 countries, the Grannies have plenty of tips to share with their audience—everything from packing eco-friendly disposable wipes, to savvy prescription advice or having the right cell phone for emergencies. Their encouragement of fellow "boomers" on how best to travel sheds a unique light on art, culture, shopping and cuisine from all corners of the world.
The Grannies look forward to sharing their expertise and advice with the AARP audience through their upcoming videos about the TV series, feature blogs about their adventures, and a global photo gallery. Check out the Grannies on Safari® on www.aarp.org.
Come and see the Grannies in person at AARP's Life@50+ event in New Orleans from Sept 20-22nd, 2012.
